Just two months from when it first turned a wheel, the development 'mule' of the Nash MVW3 completed the full distance of the African Endurance Series 6-hour race held at the Phakisa Raceway, just outside Welkom in South Africa's Free State.
Driven by Andrew Horne and Jonathan Nash, this grueling test was a perfect opportunity to expose whatever issues might have been overlooked in the design phase or which might require modification prior to production.
Unsurprisingly, a few issues arose and some time was lost in the pits as these were resolved. However, the car then ran without problem for the second half of the race and finished strongly to cap a remarkable debut.
Said driver Andrew Horne, "That is one of the most enjoyable races I have experienced and the car was an absolute delight to drive. The delicacy and predictability of the handling meant that even the longer spells were not physically taxing and once the early mechanical issues were resolved, it was simply great fun behind the wheel".
